In surfcasting, reel are rated as light, medium, n heavy. It was basically base on the reel size, the amount of poundage line able to load on the spool recommended by the manufacturer. Below are some of the multiplyier that can use for surfcasting.

Abu 6500 Silver Sport Rocket
One of the most common used light surfcasting reel. Spool is light n rotate very smoothly. Gear ratio 5.3:1 Recommended for use at beach or light boat fishing. Maximun line is 20lbs mono. NOT recommended for targeting big ray. |
Abu 6500 Blue Elite
Very commonly used also. Almost the same as the silver rocket but this come with a power handle for better cranking. Gear ratio: 5.3:1 Recommended for use at beach or light boat fishing. Maximum line is 20lbs mono. NOT recommended for targeting big ray.

Solid built n the spool rotate very smoothly. Come with a big power handle for strong cranking. One of the best long distance surffishing reel around. Gear ratio: 6:1 Recommended for beach or light boat fishing. Maximum line is 20lbs mono. NOT recommended for targeting big ray. |
Penn 180L Baymaster
Very solid built small multiplyier. Very good to used on pier, jetty or as a light boat reel where distance casting is not required. Gear ratio 3:1. Maximum line is 20lbs mono. NOT recommended for targeting big ray.

Almost the same as the 7000 size. Only thing is the gear ratio is 5.3:1. Super reel for casting big bait at beach or breakwater stone. Maximum line is 30lbs mono.

Penn 155L Beach master
Penn old beach surfcasting reel. Gear ratio 3:1. Although is doesn't have ball bearing, it can cast quite smoothly. Very good to used as a heavy beach, boat or jetty reel. Maximum line is 30lbs mono.
